Compliance with Clean & Safe Requirements: In light of the widespread apprehension accompanying the gradual resurgence of economic and social operations in the wake of the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, Turismo de Portugal has introduced the ‘Clean and Safe’ accreditation. This designation is reserved for tourism activities that adhere to stringent hygiene and cleansing prerequisites, aimed at preventing and controlling COVID-19 transmission and other potential infections.

Internal Training and Procedural Implementation for Staff: Our workforce has undergone specific instruction and training regarding the following aspects:
Internal guidelines concerning the Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic. Adherence to fundamental precautionary measures and infection management protocols for Coronavirus Covid-19, encompassing: Hand hygiene: Regular and thorough handwashing with soap and water for at least 40 seconds, or the use of hand sanitizer containing at least 70% alcohol. Ensuring comprehensive coverage of all hand surfaces and rubbing until dry. Respiratory conduct: Employing the inner elbow to cover coughs or sneezes, or utilizing a disposable tissue, which should be immediately disposed of. Practicing hand hygiene after coughing, sneezing, or nose-blowing; refraining from touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Social Etiquette: Modifying interaction frequency and methods among staff members and between staff and clients. Minimizing, whenever possible, close contact, such as handshakes, embraces, communal workspaces, face-to-face meetings, and the sharing of food, utensils, glasses, and towels. Guidelines for monitoring one’s health on a daily basis, including temperature measurement twice a day, recording results and timings, and recognizing any symptoms of fever, cough, or breathing difficulties. Adherence to the health authorities’ directives, including sanitizing all surfaces and laundering linens used within our premises. High-temperature laundering of all garments and accessories utilized during activities (e.g., towels, cycling attire), both for staff and clients (at approximately 60ºC). Provision of alcohol-based hand sanitizers, whenever warranted, to participants in all activities. Thorough sanitization or disinfection of equipment following each activity, in accordance with the appropriate guidelines for each equipment type. Comprehensive sanitization or disinfection of transport vehicles following each activity, adhering to specific rules for each transport type. Operational Measures Include:
Enforcement of social distancing amongst participants during activities, following guidelines by the ‘Direção-Geral da Saúde’ (Portuguese Directorate-General for Health). Optimal utilization of transport vehicles during activities, as per ‘Direção-Geral da Saúde’ recommendations. Utilization of digital/online platforms for conveying activity-related information. Adherence to internal sanitization and safety protocols by collaborating partners involved in activities. Availability of a designated staff member responsible for implementing protocols in case of infection suspicion (guiding symptomatic clients to isolation areas, providing assistance, and notifying the National Health Service). Safe handling and storage of any waste generated by potentially infected clients in sealed plastic bags, to be kept separate and subsequently managed by licensed entities for hazardous medical waste.
