Arriving in Provesende, one of the six official Wine Villages of the Douro, you’ll begin a truly immersive walking experience that showcases the extraordinary balance between human craftsmanship and natural beauty.

Walking Douro Valley

This gentle 6-kilometer trail, descending toward the riverfront village of Pinhão, is perfect for families and adventurous wine lovers alike. Over approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, you’ll pass through a world of endless vineyards, stone terraces, and the peaceful hamlet of São Cristóvão do Douro, where traditional ways of life still echo through the valley.

Pause to photograph sweeping vistas, breathe in the scent of wild herbs and almond trees, and absorb the atmosphere of this UNESCO World Heritage landscape. As you reach the valley floor, a serene encounter awaits at the Roman Bridge of Pinhão, a quiet emblem of the region’s enduring history.

Located above the rolling vineyards, the viewpoint of São Cristóvão do Douro offers a serene and lesser-known vantage point over the majestic Douro Valley. As you ascend through the quaint village, where whitewashed houses and narrow alleys reflect the region’s timeless charm, the landscape opens to reveal a breathtaking panorama of terraced slopes, the winding river, and distant estates—a view that feels both intimate and infinite.

Wine Tasting and Lunch  at Quinta do Val Moreira 

Arriving at Quinta do Val Moreira, prepare for a gastronomic journey that brings together traditional Portuguese flavors and organic farm-to-table ingredients. Dine alfresco on the estate’s terrace, where the breathtaking views of the Douro River and vineyards enhance every bite, making this an experience of pure magic.

Pinhão – The Soul of the Douro Valley

After lunch, we explore the picturesque village of Pinhão, a jewel of the Douro Valley. You’ll visit its 19th-century railway station, famous for its traditional blue-and-white azulejo tiles, which narrate the region’s winemaking heritage.

Traditional Wooden Boat River Tour

On this 1-hour cruise, you’ll sail gently between vine-covered hillsides and under centuries-old terraces, with the rhythm of the river setting a tranquil pace.
