Located at 550 meters of altitude, the grandeur of Favaios reveals itself in a stunning plateau of vineyards and schist walls. In this experience, you will take a guided tour to the Adega de Favaios, with the main goal of showing you how the Muscatel is made in a relaxed environment, located in one of the most beautiful and remote regions of the old world, the Douro.
Traditional Bakery – Manuela Barriguda
The Favaios traditional bread prepared by Manuela Barriguda sells an average of 400 a day. The bakery, one of eight still in operation, is located in Favaios and it is over 100 years old. Work here starts very early. Come and taste one of the most delicious handmade bread and discover the local communities stories.

The N313-2 relentlessly switchbacks its way into the hills northeast from Régua, arriving a half-hour later at the overlook (640m), where the valley’s full sweep spreads out before you, the Douro snaking off into the distance between kilometres of steeply terraced vineyards.
