After collecting our travelers on accomodation, the first stop of this Private Douro Valley Tour is the picturesque village of Amarante. Located near the Tamega’s River, is one of the most important affluents of the Douro’s River, you will visit the Church of Saint Gonçalo and its historic center. You will also taste the delicious typical cakes.
We continue our tour towards the wine village of Favaios. A charming wine village located in the Douro Valley of Portugal, renowned for its production of Moscatel de Favaios, a sweet fortified wine made from the Muscat grape. Discover the iconic, Adega Cooperativa de Favaios where you can taste the renowned Moscatel wine, tour the cellars, and immerse yourself in the village’s rich winemaking heritage.
In Favaios, you will discover the traditional bread of Manuela Barriguda, a symbol of the village’s heritage. Baked in wood-fired ovens, this rustic bread is known for its hearty flavor and unique texture, reflecting generations of tradition. A true taste of Favaios.
Continuing our wine tour we will visit Quinta D´Origem, where you will involve with the history of this centenary olive and wine producer. In the end, you will taste 2 DOC wines and 1 Tawny Port Wine, traditional bread and Quinta D´Origem olive oil.
On the way to Pinhão we will have the opportunity to stop at Casal de Loivos viewpoint for photos and make memories together.
Our Lunch will be at Quinta do Val Moreira, the menu includes several Traditional Portuguese Meals and Organic Products directly from the Farm. By the Terrace, looking at Quinta de Val Moreira and Douro River, Food has new flavor.
After lunch, we conclude our tour on Pinhão Village. Located on the right bank of the Douro River. Among the main heritage is the Railway Station, built during the 19th century and well known for its tiles depicting the production of Port wine.
On Pinhão docks you will enjoy a river cruise on the Rabelo boat. It is a traditional Portuguese wooden cargo boat that was used for centuries to transport people and Port Wine along the river.
After the boat tour we will return at your accommodation.
