After leaving your accomodation, we travel towards the Green Minho region, where is located Fafe and Montelongo mountains.
You’re invited to discover the best of the North, its people and traditions, with all the comfort whilst contributing to a responsible and sustainable development. The first stop will be the picturesque village of Fafe.
Fafe is recognized for its natural beauty and gastronomy . The village underwent a significant transformation due to the wealth brought back by Portuguese emigrants who had ventured to Brazil and later returned to their homeland. These individuals, brought a distinct Brazilian Portuguese accent and their financial contributions led to house and public buildings construction, shaping the present-day historic city center. We will drive by iconic tile facades buildings and explore the little village center.
We continue our tour to Fafe mountains, the first visit it will be one of the world´s strangest houses, Casa do Penedo. Known to many as the Flintstones’ house, is located in the Serra de Fafe and was built between four large rocks that serve as its structure. This family house will let your imagination soar, peace and romance go hand in hand when visiting this natural diamond. The house was built to have no technology, no television and no phone and its architecture and beautiful surroundings make it a memorable family moment. This ecotour includes a guided tour with explanations of the architecture and history of Casa do Penedo.
Nearby you will explore an organic farmhouse where you will immerse in a sustainable agricultural experience, try fresh products, and interact with autochthonous trees, species, and animals. You will discover how sustainable farming works and the best practices of sustainable organic farming. The farm house has 100 hectars and houses hundreds of autochtonous species, such as horses, cows, goats, wild pigs, donkeys and many others.
After the farm visit, you will lunch in a tranquil retreat where you can enjoy a traditional delicious meal surrounded by forests, lagoons and breathtaking views. There are options for each traveler but the main goal is to letting you try the Portuguese cuisine and flavors.
In the afternoon you will explore and walk (30 minutes) in a reservoir and river beach, Queimadela. It is a dam with 11 hectares and has an important area of leisure, offering a river beach, picnic areas, and conditions for the practice of non-motorized and ecological water sports. This is a very pleasant place to enjoy nature with family or friends.

After the Queimadela dam reservoir visit, we will return to accommodation.
