After leaving your accomodation, we travel towards the charming coastal town of Viana do Castelo.

Located along the scenic coastline of northern Portugal, its involvment in the Portuguese Discoveries and cod fishing, reveals its traditional atlantic connection. Viana is rich in palaces, churches, monasteries, monumental fountains and water attractions that constitute a wealth of heritage worth visiting,

You will start your day with a visit to Feel Viana, a private modern watersports center located right on the Cabedelo beach, it is the biggest and newest in Portugal. Here, you can kick off your shoes and feel the golden sand between your toes. This premium coastal tour was designed for those who wish to relax and feel the atlantic breeze.

After the ocean experience, you will enjoy an awarded seafood  local restaurant, this contemporary restaurant located next to the Castelo de Santiago da Barra occupies a docks warehouse in which the large attractive fish and seafood tanks take pride of place. Its owners are fish wholesalers, hence the top-quality fish and seafood that is on offer here, normally sold by weight and at prices that are highly competitive. You won’t find a single meat dish on the menu here. Make sure you save space for desserts made by the owners’ daughter.

After lunch, we will walk and explore Viana’s city center. Praça da República is one of the most impressive squares in Portugal. At its heart is the much-photographed Chafariz Fountain which was built in the 16th century, while the most impressive building  is the church of the Misericórdia, a unique three-store structure featuring Roman arches and Renaissance balconies.

To conclude our premium coastal tour, we will visit the iconic Santa Luzia sanctuary, a revivalist building by Ventura Terra, of 1898, invites you to breathtaking views from its hilltop perch. Visitors will arrive at this Sanctuary to the top of the Monte de Santa Luzia, by funicular (650m), The Elevador de Santa Luzia. This place dominates an important part of the Lima river valley and a large stretch of the seashore to the north and south of the estuary, as well as the green mountain range. This stunning landscape has been rated by the National Geographic Magazine as the third most beautiful in the World.
