ITINERARY

After leaving your accomodation, we will explore Porto in a day tour that captures the essence of this enchanting city.

You will begin your adventure at Livraria Lello, a renowned bookstore considered as one of the world’s most beautiful. While it’s not the birthplace of Harry Potter, it exudes its own magic, offering a serene start to your day away from the bustling crowds. Don’t miss the chance to buy their collection of special edition novels, perfect for a unique souvenir.

Ascend to new heights at Torre dos Clérigos, a towering symbol of Porto’s skyline. Climb its steps for panoramic views, a breathtaking reward for your ascent.  After the view at Torre dos Clérigos, you will marvel the designs and adorning landmarks like Igreja do Carmo and São Bento Train Station, each telling stories of religious significance and historical events.

We will arrive at Sé do Porto and admire its majestic façade and twin towers, offering a beautiful scenario against the city backdrop. Take a moment on the cathedral terrace to reflect on your cultural journey thus far.

After visiting Sé do Porto, we will visit Porto’s neighboring city, Matosinhos. It is a maritime town, bordered by the Atlantic ocean, it has the region’s busiest fish market and is the perfect place to savor the sea delicacies. Here, the streets are bustling with restaurants setting up their barbecue grills by the door. You will have a delicious seafood lunch, freshly prepared and paired with the finest regional wines, in true Portuguese style.

On the afternoon, you will venture into the charming Ribeira district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its narrow streets and vibrant buildings. Wander along Cais da Ribeira, and feel the lively atmosphere of wine cellars, traditional boats, and street performers. You will embark on a scenic Douro River cruise (50m) for a unique perspective of Porto’s landscape. Admire the six bridges connecting Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, with Dom Luís I bridge stealing the show.

Continuing our tour, we will see Porto downtown, from the hills of Gaia. You will enjoy Gaia Cable Car and from the highest point of the ride, you can admire the river on its way to the sea, the Dom Luis I Bridge, the beautiful Porto Ribeira district and the red roofs of the port wine cellars.

Conclude your day on the east side of the river in Vila Nova de Gaia with a premium Port wine tasting experience.
